Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF), a global direct sales of nutritional products, announced that it has obtained the license for the sale directed by the Ministry of Commerce of China.
The license permits Herbalife to conduct direct selling activities in Suzhou and Nanjing in Jiangsu Province. In Suzhou, the fifth Chinese city in terms of GDP, there are more than six million people in Nanjing, the second shopping center in size in eastern China, after Shanghai, home to some eight million people.
Herbalife currently operates 42 stores and 17 service centers in 25 provinces of China. The company operates a unique direct sales model in China, according to local regulations. Employed by independent distributors conduct their activities in retail stores owned by Herbalife. Consumers and other distributors come into the store to buy products and learn more about job opportunities. Thanks to obtaining the license, distributors may conduct business outside the store in the province and cities named in the direct selling license.

Herbalife , headquartered in Shanghai, sells more than 30 products in China. The company operates from its manufacturing facility in Suzhou, also in China, where products are produced for local use and export.
